The Tarragona Cup 2026 invites youth teams from across the UK, Ireland and beyond to take part in a truly international football experience in Salou, Spain. Set against the backdrop of the stunning Catalan coast, this professionally organised tournament gives young players the chance to compete in a minimum of four matches, with semi-finals held in a professional La Liga stadium. It's not just about competition, it's about development, team spirit, and the joy of the game.

Juanjo, Juan José Carricondo Pérez
One of the key organisers behind the Grassroots Cup is Juan Jose Carricondo Perez, better known as Juanjo. A former professional footballer, Juanjo came through the ranks at FC Barcelona's world-famous La Masia academy, earning a place in the first team before going on to enjoy a 15-year playing career across Spain, Scotland, and England.
During his time on the pitch, he lined up alongside legends like Pep Guardiola, Romario, Hristo Stoichkov, Xavi, and Carles Puyol experiences that shaped his approach to the game.
Today, Juanjo continues his football journey as Sporting Director at LIE Mollet FC, and brings his passion, experience, and dedication to youth development to the heart of this tournament. His leadership ensures every team is part of a professionally run, exciting football experience.

Age Classes
- B13: Born on or after 1st January 2013
- B14: Born on or after 1st January 2014
- B15: Born on or after 1st January 2015
- B16: Born on or after 1st January 2016
- B17: Born on or after 1st January 2017
- B18: Born on or after 1st January 2018
To accommodate the school systems in England and Wales, we also offer special dispensation: players born between September and December of the previous year may take part within their age group in any game.
Games
- All games will be 7 v 7
- All teams guarenteed a minimum 4 games
- The top 2 teams in each group will qualify for the cup semi finals.
- The bottom 2 teams in each group will qualify for the plate semi finals.
- Finals played in Laliga Stadiu

Barcelona Experience Grassroots Cup commences with group games.
Thursday
Play-off games and finals followed by trophy presentations.

Check out of hotel. Transfer to airport for departure.
